Supercharge Your Guitar Practice Time
Lesson 5: Work The Fundamentals
During every practice session, spend some time on fundamentals. By
fundamentals, I mean things like playing scales, note reading (if you read standard notation or want to), learning new chords, or learning new
picking patterns. Practicing the fundamentals can be dull, but it will jump-start your ability to play the things you want to play.

There's a story about the great classical guitar player, Andres Segovia. Early in his career, Segovia had to serve in the Spanish Army.
As I heard the story, his army duties allowed him only half an hour a day to practice. Since he had such limited time, the master wanted to spend
that time on something that would have the most positive impact on all aspects of his playing. So for the entire three years that he served in
the army, Segovia used his half-hour a day to practice scales.
Take a lesson from Segovia, and spend time on the fundamentals.
